RBH launches ‘Breaking Point’ video campaign with Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust.
Launched on International Men’s Day (19th November), the video aims to raise awareness of the services the Trust provides, while also emphasising the potentially devastating consequences of not seeking help when experiencing mental health issues.
Did you know? 12.5% of men in the UK are suffering from common mental health illnesses and 46% of those are embarrassed or ashamed of their mental health condition.*
Marcus Leonard, IAPT Manager at the Trust said: “We wanted to create a video which demonstrated the importance of talking about mental health and asking for help when needed. We know that men are less likely to seek help when they are feeling low, which can lead to disastrous consequences.
“The breaking point video showcases the need to recognise symptoms and seek help early. Our service offers both online and talking therapies and we would like to encourage everyone, but particularly men, to come forward and talk to us – it could just be the best decision you have ever made.”
RBH’s head of insight, Joe Hepburn, added: “Born out of insight into men’s mental health, our campaign aims to help shift attitudes and drive change.
“We’ve loved working alongside the NHS on this project and hope it encourages more men to reach out to someone if they’re feeling low or are at risk of breaking point.”
Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust is designed to help people who are feeling low, experiencing adversity or near breaking point. Its Dudley and Walsall Wellbeing courses offer immediate access to online supported CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) programmes, with interactive tools to help people better understand their own mental health.
